This highly enjoyable eight-hour course, split into two four-hour sessions, offers a thorough introduction to dinghy sailing under expert instruction. You will learn essential skills, including boat controls, handling techniques, rigging and key safety principles, building both confidence and competence on the water. With plenty of time spent afloat, you will practise basic manoeuvres and experience helming a dinghy yourself, all under professional supervision.
All equipment is provided, allowing you to focus fully on learning and enjoying the experience. By the end of the course, you will have gained valuable sailing knowledge, hands-on experience, and an RYA Start Sailing certificate, along with a logbook and handbook to continue your sailing journey.
Age Restrictions: Min age at most locations is 16.
(Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult).
At Nottingham Location Min age is 16 and Max weight is 114kg / 18 stone (or Max chest size 122cm / 48 inch).
All participants must be water confident.
The RYA Start Sailing course is run at weekends all year round.
