Whether you're a Manx resident, or visiting the Isle of Man on holiday, this is one deluxe afternoon tea package you'll want to book on for. The Empress Hotel is located on Douglas' Victorian promenade overlooking the Irish Sea and is a short walk from the main sea terminal which ferries to and from the mainland. Reception staff will welcome you warmly upon arrival, where you will be shown to your seat in either the grand orangerie conservatory that runs the width of the hotel building itself, the snug piano bar or, if it happens to be a nice day for it, the multitude of tables and chairs that are out on the lawn that overlooks the beach. But even if the weather isn't so great to be out in, there's something equally appealing about enjoying taking tea in the comfort of the orangerie! And this is certainly an afternoon tea with a difference, as not only will you get to enjoy the traditional tea including scones with jam and cream and sweet and savoury delights, but you'll also enjoy a seriously tempting chocolate fondue, with a variety of fresh fruit and sweet treats such as marshmallows to enjoy dipping into the fondue.
