As a MasterChef finalist, chef trainer, and cake bakery business owner, Jane has all the tricks and techniques up her sleeves. Spend a day with her at her cottage near Birmingham and she'll show you just how it's all done. You'll be given a six-inch, four-layer cake to work with, and before the decorating begins, you'll learn how to prepare the cake by splitting the layers, adding in conserve, and using buttercream to make sure it all stays together. Then comes the tricky part - covering the cake with sugar paste. But don't worry, Jane will show you the foolproof technique to get this perfect, ready for decorating.   • Learn the basics techniques of covering and decorating a six-inch, four-layer cake
  • Welcome and introduction to your course
  • Your cake will be baked and provided by Tara House Bakery
  • You will learn how to split the cake, fill with conserve and buttercream crumb the coat and coat with buttercream
  • Cover the cake with sugar paste and decorate the cake and the board
  • All materials, ingredients, equipment and a course booklet will be provided on the day
  • Take your decorated cake home with you in a box
  • Light refreshments will be provided
