The venue for this experience is at The Clayton Hotel, located on Albert Street in Birmingham city centre. It's the most divine of places for this exquisite experience. Upon arrival, you'll both receive a complimentary glass of something bubbly, and meet with your professional perfume consultant for the session. This commences with a brief history of perfume, taking you from its origins to the present day, and the significance of it in various cultures around the world. You'll then start working to build your own bespoke fragrance from a selection of 20 different scents, and learn about top, middle and base notes, and how to best combine these. Once you've created your fragrance, you'll be able to take home a 20ml atomiser spray bottle of your custom made perfume. Then, with your sense of smell well satisfied, your taste buds can get a reward for your efforts, in the form of a freshly prepared afternoon tea with freshly brewed tea and coffee and all manner of sweet and savoury treats to relax with - the perfect end to what promises to be a memorable afternoon!
The perfume making experience is suitable for almost anyone. Under 16's aged 12 and up are welcome to participate, but each person under 16 must be accompanied by a voucher-holding adult.
Each experience can accommodate up to 32 people.
The entire experience will last approximately 1 ½ hours.
There is no dress code for this experience, however you may wish to dress smartly for a luxury afternoon tea. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing. Since you'll be working with scents, it's best to avoid strong fragrances to maintain the quality of your own creations.
The weather should not affect your perfume making course and afternoon tea, however if a cancellation occurs your class will be rescheduled for another date.
