Itinerary:

  • Welcome, introduction and safety briefing
  • Forge the axe head: Drift and shape the eye of the axe head
  • Use processes such as cross peening and fullering to forge the cheeks
  • Shape the face of the axe then forge wield the high carbon edge
  • Head out to the grinding bay to use tools to shape and grind a bevel into the axe head
  • Use a number of woodworking tools to shape the handle and fit your axe
  • Learn how to throw axes at the targets

  • Minimum age 14
  • Under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult.

  • Weekdays and selected Saturdays throughout the year
  • All dates are subject to availability
