Fancy trying your hand at axe throwing? Head over to North Muskham, just outside Newark, for a brilliant ‘have a go’ session at this outdoor activity centre in the heart of North Nottinghamshire. It’s easy to find too, tucked away in beautiful countryside but only minutes from the A1. The sessions are great value and run by a friendly, professional team who know how to make everything smooth and fun. Whether you’re a complete beginner or just curious, you’ll be in safe hands. Everyone's welcome! The minimum age to throw axes and knives is 10 years old, and an adult must accompany under-16s. Once you arrive, you’ll get a full safety briefing before heading into the axe arena. You will quickly discover that axe throwing is all about technique and stance, not muscle power. Expect a few hilarious misses (it happens to everyone!) — but when you finally land your first throw on target, it’s a real buzz! You'll be aiming for classic wooden roundel targets, and if you’re lucky, you might even get to throw at a few zombie faces (just painted ones — no real zombies, promise!). Plus, there’s the chance to have a go at throwing knives too, which again is all about honing your technique. Each session lasts around an hour, giving you plenty of time to learn, practise, and enjoy the satisfying thunk of an axe hitting the target. We think you’re going to love every minute of it!
