You, or you and the aviation fan in your life, can book on for this thrilling flight simulator experience at Gloucestershire Airport, where, over a 90 minute session, you’ll both get an opportunity to be the Captain of this fully realistic, fixed base Boeing 737-800 simulator! One of the world’s most popular forms of commercial passenger aircraft, with over 5000 produced - Ryanair, for example, have quite a few of them in their fleet - it’s used for short and medium-haul flights by airlines worldwide. On arrival at the airport, you’ll get to choose where you fly - in the simulator, that is - after a quick chat with your sim instructors, who know the flight system very well and can help advise you on the best choice, whether that’s an airport you know well or one with a slightly more complex approach - you can even control the weather conditions to up the stakes significantly! Utilising 120° graphics that look as close to the real view as possible, it’ll make it all seem that bit more real as if you really are about to take off in a Boeing 737-800, with realistic sound effects. You can also join each other in the cockpit in the jump seat. It’s certainly a challenge of an experience, but one that we think you’ll both enjoy. After all, there’s little that can beat the feeling of being Captain of a Boeing 737-800!

  • Gate to Gate: Upgrade when booking your date on the day for £30 adding an extra 15 minutes to your experience. This gives you the opportunity to start the aircraft, taxi to the runway then return to the gate and complete a full shutdown
  • A DVD or USB drive of your flight is available as a memento of your day for £30 payable on the day

A really enjoyable experience and quite demanding probably especially because as a private pilot with ancient military experience with instrumentation it took a while to get my head around all the glass cockpit instruments. Approaches (instrument and visual) and landings were very enjoyable controlling throttle, flaps, undercarriage - and successful.

A fabulous friendly and bespoke interaction. Very accommodating to book and the flight sim was brilliantly provided. I have to sing the highest praise for firstly Flightsim contacting Into the Blue and the latter for agreeing to honor the voucher that had been purchased pre-pandemic, originally 6 month validity, and extended to 12. The hassle free ability to use the expired voucher, with no additional cost, represents service of the highest standard. Would give more stars to both companies if I could.

How rewarding the experience was in some way depends upon expectations. A friend had an experience with another firm and with who I attended as a guest, had several attempts at landing etc with the instructions, just do a 3 degree glide slope and land, easily done and enjoyable for him together with other flying. My experience was far more detailed, being a very realistic taxi out and start up with all instrument explained and working, so very much like the real thing. The attempted landings were very realistic, so eyes in the cockpit following the artificial horizon and having to concentrate on keeping the plane marker on the crosshairs, so no chance of having a look around the impressive scenery being displayed outside the cockpit. So, while I was very interested in seeing how the real thing is done, it was a little frustrating not being able to do a "soft" landing. On the first attempt the instructor flew it it in to show how the controls became more sensitive, requiring greater inputs from the pilot. On the second attempt, it was exciting and the instructor was generous enough to be complimentary about what was obviously a lousy landing! You certainly gain a greater respect for the skill of pilots. So, a good experience seeing it how it is, but a little less satisfying about getting a good landing. I would certainly recommend the experience but perhaps the instructor needs to ascertain what the client expects or wants.

I had a 2 hour session and it was fantastic. I really think that its a good amount of time to get to grips with the experience and have a decent stab at a couple of landings and take-offs. This also allows a good amount of time to understand what the instructor is telling you, and for you to absorb it. Christina was brilliant, she had patience and made the experience the more worthwhile, answering questions, pointing out details and covering the tricky stuff!

Bought this experience as birthday presents for Two mates and as a treat for myself, why should they have all the fun. Absolutely brilliant can not recommend it enough. The three of us went in together, so the banter and laughs were rife from start to finish. I hope Craig our very informative and knowledgeable instructor had as much fun as we did. Particularly funny to my mates and him was when they colluded together and set the engine fire warning off, on my flight. As I said Craig was very informative, knowledgeable and joined in to help make this a truly memorable experience. Although the sim is static, the whole set up convinces your senses that you are moving. Several times I found myself holding on and I swear my ears popped.

I simply must share my daughter Charlotte's incredible experience at 737sim with Richard! It was truly outstanding, far surpassing any other commercial sim experience she's had before. Richard's deep knowledge and vast experience as a commercial Boeing airline pilot shone through, providing Charlotte, a student pilot herself, with a truly immersive and enlightening experience. Though Charlotte has a solid grasp of flight processes, Richard's insights and captivating explanations further ignited her passion for aviation and the prospect of becoming a professional pilot. The entire experience was top-notch, from the realism of the simulator to Richard's engaging instruction. We couldn't recommend 737sim and Richard more highly!
