This was my 2nd experience of flying a helicopter (1st being 20 years ago!) and once again I thoroughly enjoyed it. The instructor had hurt his back which meant I got to help wheel the craft out of the hanger before he took it to get some fuel. (OK, the prep' may not have been great but, considering the problems he was having walking, I'm not going to hold that against him.) Thankfully, once he managed to get into his seat, he was fine and the lesson went well. I got to practice some hovering skills too which didn't happen last time. So I found out that I'm wired up to use my feet the opposite way around from the controls .... so that was good fun! Overall, a really good experience. It's always a good sign when it just didn't seem long enough!

Apart from the initial issue of trying to book an actual time with Whizzard Helicopter's whereby it took quite a few emails to organise a date. The actual experience was unforgettable. Everyone was really nice, our pilot was really informative (my partner though he was fit, so a bonus for her), helpful and nothing beats the adrenaline of flying a helicopter whilst listening to the conversation between the pilot and air traffic control. I will say that hovering was the hardest part but the most fun.
