Get yourself a taste of what gliding is all about with this 30 minute experience at a friendly and experienced flight club at Husbands Bosworth Airfield. Instructors here have been introducing people to gliding here since 1963 and they have over 30 British Glider Association qualified pilots on hand to make the experience as smooth as possible for you. Rest assured you will be in very capable hands as you sit back and enjoy the ride once you’ve gained momentum and settled in the air. Once you get acquainted with the aircraft after a safety briefing you’ll be able to appreciate the wonderful views over Husbands Bosworth as you take in the sights of the Leicestershire countryside. If you find yourself starting to get curious about what it’s like to fly a glider, your instructor may even let you have a taster with the controls. However, if you’re just after enjoying a soaring experience and relaxing in the air, you can certainly do this too. After exploring the immediate views after the airfield, you even have the opportunity to explore a variety of areas such as Market Harborough, Foxton Locks or Wistow Maze on your route. Please note that all flights are at the discretion of the instructor of the day, this also includes letting a student have control of the glider, this is only done if the instructor is happy to hand the controls over
The gliding centre is open 7 days a week between May and October
Flights generally operate between 10am and 5.30pm, and continue until dusk on Wednesdays and Thursdays
All bookings are asked to arrive 15 minutes before their allocated time to do paperwork before they can fly
All flights are subject to availability and weather conditions
