Experience the ultimate adrenaline rush with a 14,000ft tandem skydive in Durham, just 10 miles from the city centre. This high-altitude jump delivers maximum free-fall and an unforgettable first-time skydiving experience. Based at Shotton Airfield near Peterlee, this is the only skydiving school in the North East and one of the region’s best-equipped drop zones. It's friendly, professional setup attracts jumpers from across Durham and beyond. On arrival, you will meet the ground team and your experienced tandem instructor before taking part in a full briefing and training session lasting around 90 minutes. You will cover everything from aircraft exit and free-fall position to landing safely. Once ready, you will be securely harnessed and flown up in the Grand Caravan aircraft. As the doors open at 14,000 feet, the countryside stretches out below — then it’s time to step into an incredible freefall, followed by a scenic parachute descent back to the airfield. Jumps operate midweek and weekends from mid-February to November, weather permitting, with free overnight camping and caravanning available on-site.
