Our lessons are conducted by International Kitesurfing Organisation (IKO) and British Kite Sports Association (BKSA) approved instructors, whose expertise is unparalleled. They will guide you through setting up a kite, flying it with confidence, controlling its power, and using it to glide across the water—this manoeuvre is known as body dragging. It might sound daunting, but it's tremendous fun!
This is simply the best course available for beginners. Once you’ve experienced the exhilaration of skimming over the water at high speeds, we’re confident you’ll soon be back for your next kitesurfing adventure.
Upon arrival and a warm welcome to the centre, you’ll begin your kitesurfing lesson with the theory. You’ll learn the fundamentals of kite flying (an essential component of kitesurfing) and receive an introduction to all the equipment, including trainer kites, kitesurf kites, and safety procedures. After grasping the basics, you'll progress to flying some power kites, understanding the wind window (the flyable area for the kite), and learning how to execute a safety release.
The real excitement begins when you hit the water and start practising body dragging, where you're propelled over the water by the kite. This is when you'll truly start to appreciate the incredible power these kites generate. The day will conclude with a debrief covering the key points from the day and your progress.
There are no height/weight restrictions, but you will need to fit into a harness. The minimum age is 12, and participants must be confident swimmers and be at ease in water.
If you have a medical condition you think may affect your ability to do the course, please call the centre when booking.
The duration of the experience is approximately 5 hours. Please allow to be on location for 6 hours.
Please note that dates are never fully guaranteed due to the dependency on the weather. Kitesurfing is weather-dependent - you need wind and tides to move. It is important to be aware of changes in the wind speed, direction and sea state, and useful to check a couple of forecasts before you go kitesurfing. Kitesurfing Lessons are held at Camber, East Sussex and Greatstone in Kent (10 miles apart), depending on which way the wind is blowing! Please contact the centre on the day to confirm.
Minimum Age: 12 years

Kitesurfing is available all April - October. This experience is dependent on tides, so days will vary week by week. Do remember that in cooler months, the water will be very cold!
All equipment is included in the cost of your kitesurfing lesson - this includes wetsuits, life jackets, boards, harnesses, helmets, kites, leashes, bar and lines and insurance.
The first part of the course is land based so you will need trainers or other flat, sensible shoes, and warm clothes - sadly it is not always that warm on the beach! In hotter months, you should bring sun protection and sunglasses. Swimming trunks, swimming costumes and bikinis are fine to wear underneath the wetsuit. You should also bring a drink, a snack and, of course, a towel!
Group size: 4 participants per instructor.
Friends and family are welcome to watch, but please find out from the instructors where the safest place to watch from is. Kiting parties, for friends, corporate events or stag/hen dos, can be organised if there is enough notice. Larger groups may often receive a discount, and suggestions can be given for where to eat, drink, dance...etc.
