Electric Car Driving Experiences

What is it like to drive an Electric Car?
Driving an electric car is smooth, quiet, and surprisingly responsive, offering instant acceleration thanks to electric motors delivering full torque from the moment you press the pedal. On track, cars like the Tesla Model S or BMW i8 feel effortless to drive, with no gear changes and very little noise, which makes the experience feel very different compared to traditional petrol-powered supercars. It’s more refined than expected, but still capable of strong performance and rapid acceleration.
How fast are Electric Car driving experience cars?
Electric cars used in driving experiences can be extremely quick, with models like the Tesla Model S P90D capable of 0–60 mph in as little as 2.6 seconds using “Ludicrous” mode. Even the BMW i8, while more hybrid-focused, can still reach 0–60 mph in under 5 seconds, meaning these cars can comfortably match or even outperform many traditional supercars in straight-line acceleration.
Are Electric Car driving experiences suitable for beginners?
Yes, Electric Car driving experiences are very beginner-friendly because the cars are easy to operate, often fully automatic, and extremely smooth to drive. With instant power delivery and no manual gears to worry about, drivers can focus more on steering, braking, and enjoying the track. Most experiences also include full instruction and safety briefings, making them accessible even for first-time drivers.
Do you need a driving licence for an Electric Car experience?
Yes, most Electric Car driving experiences require a full, valid UK driving licence, as you’ll be driving on a circuit under instructor supervision. However, some venues may also offer junior electric experiences or passenger rides, allowing younger participants to experience electric performance cars in a controlled environment without needing a licence.

What Electric Cars Can I Drive?

Electric cars are the future, there is no denying this. They have been on the brink of mass production for years and now they are here and here with a bang! Trackdays have embraced the advancement of technologies and we now offer electric car driving experiences.

Don't be fooled into thinking the electric car experience days we offer are in slow, sluggish and unattractive eco-friendly vehicles. The cars we provide include the likes of the BMW i8 and the Tesla Model S. This beast offers the driver to go from 0-60 in less than five seconds and with a potential top speed of over 155mph, the BMW i8 can hold its own against some of the more established gas guzzlers such as the Lamborghini Gallardo.

What is an Electric Car?

An electric car is a vehicle which uses electric motors for propulsion rather than an internal combustion engine. It requires the use of electrical energy, which in most cases is stored in rechargeable batteries whereas a standard engine requires the use of fossil fuels such as petroleum or diesel. The use of electrical energy means electric cars create less CO2 emissions, have a range of around 100 miles on just one charge and are cheaper to run. It is predicted that by 2022 the cost of owning an electric car will be cheaper than owning vehicles which use fossil fuels. Manufacturers such as Tesla with its Model S and BMW with it's BMW i8 are leading the way in the electric car market and are changing the way we perceive electrical vehicles.
