Mitsubishi says goodbye to heritage fleet - News

Mitsubishi have produced some of the most iconic vehicles to ever grace the UK roads for any driving enthusiast. The EVO has been such a staple for racing addicts round the world, as the poster car for so much of what makes car engineering so fascinating. So the news that the Japanese supergiants will stop importing to the UK is a sad and historical ending for some.

However, although mass importation of these vehicles will have stopped, you will most likely still be able to get your hands on new Mitsubishi models through their European alliance with Renault-Nissan. Also, it’s not the only positive to come out of this situation.

Another exciting prospect for many driving enthusiasts is the confirmation that Mitsubishi will auction off their British heritage fleet, making some classic models available to the general public - now that’s something we can get on board with!

So, to start things off, let’s keep things iconic and classic! The EVOs. Oh, the excitement about these truly magnificent vehicles! The earliest model available is the incredible 2001 Evolution VI Tommi Makinen, which actually has the bonnet signed by Tommi himself!

Alongside this, they have a 2008 Model with under 5000 miles on the clock - outrageous! And lastly, they have the 40th Celebration model, capable of an outstanding 440 bhp. All of these EVOs will be highly touted, and we have no doubt they are going to sell for a staggering amount of money!

They also have the first ever Lancer registered in the UK on offer. The Colt Lancer will no doubt again be a big feature on the auction and garner a staggering amount of attention. There will be a few other Lancers also on offer as well as a few Replica Rally variants of their vehicles. We’d love to get our hands on those! As well as these, we can also expect a few of Mitsubishi’s newer ranges on offer, such as the Outlander, a few iconic Shoguns and a Starion as well.

Nevertheless, this auction is going to be an incredibly exciting time for classic car enthusiasts, rally fans and those that are passionate about street driving! So, be sure to keep your eyes peeled as I’m sure these superb Heritage vehicles will be appearing on your timelines before you know it!

If you would like to jump behind the wheel and experience the power of Mitsubishi for yourself, why not check out our range of Mitsubishi Experiences? These are a fantastic way to get an insight into the Rally world and offer an adrenaline rush unlike many other vehicles we have!
