Take the historic flight of a lifetime as you board a Vintage Tiger Moth and follow in the footsteps of the Dambuster training routes used in WW2 with this 90 Minute Flying Experience from Breighton Airfield near Selby. Soar over the Derwent Dams as your flight path takes you over the incredible South Yorkshire countryside and follow the river across to Howden, Derwent and the Ladybower Dams. Not only is this a wonderful flying experience in itself, but a historic one, as you follow the route used by the WW2 617 Squadron for their bouncing bomb training, as part of what was officially called Operation Chastise. As you soar at great heights over this dam ridden landscape, you'll be taken back to WW2 as you gain an insight into what pilots had to train for in the lead up to German air raids. It's not every day you get to experience a slice of history in such a physical sense, and flying in a Vintage Tiger Moth - although not a Lancaster Bomber which was originally flown - only heightens this, as you take a seat in an iconic plane that has a firm seat in British aviation history. With the chance to take the controls yourself and put that cockpit briefing into practice, you'll soon be soaring over the South Yorkshire countryside in no time as you drink in views over 500ft of the stunning reservoirs and the Derwent Valley.

  • Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
  • Height restrictions: minimum 4ft ins, maximum of 6ft 5ins
  • Weight restrictions: maximum 16 stone
  • Prolonged periods of inactivity, air pressure changes, G pressure changes, turbulence, noise and light levels experienced during flights in open cockpit vintage aircraft may affect certain medical conditions
  • Any passenger with any doubts about their health when flying should seek medical advice
  • You are advised to wear warm comfortable clothing
