Get ready to glide with this drifting taster experience

A one-person experience, this drift taster experience will teach the aspiring drifter all the necessary elements of this extreme driving skill necessary to take on sweeping bends with style and control. This experience will take place on a purpose-built track at Bovingdon airfield, where you’ll be given a quick safety briefing. Once you’ve climbed into the drift-prepared MX-5 with your instructor, you’ll be shown how to break traction, balance the car, learn about weight transfer, transitional drifts and more. Once you feel confident, it’s time for the real drift circuit for 10 laps, where you can reach speeds of over 60mph ‘steering from the rear’ through the sweeping bend. Maybe if you fancy something a little racier, you can always upgrade to a Porsche Cayman.

This 90 minute experience is a great introduction to the exciting world of drifting. You’ll have the chance to put a drift-prepared car – the Mazda MK2 MX-5 1.8S, equipped with safety roll cages, suspension set-up and low friction over-tyres for ease of drifting - through its paces under the guidance of an experienced professional.

Your experience will begin with a theory classroom session covering the principles of car control and safety briefing, before you progress to an introductory course on linking drifts. Your experience will be complete as you are let loose on the track for four laps of drifting action! Your experience will end with a debrief with your instructors.
