Conveniently situated at Coventry Airport, just southeast of the city centre in Baginton village, our welcoming flying school is easily accessible from all over the Midlands. With its 2000m-long asphalt runway, the airport can accommodate larger aircraft, ensuring a seamless experience.
Upon arrival, a skilled CAA-licensed instructor will provide a comprehensive briefing on controls, procedures, and safety. No need to worry – this briefing is designed to give you an overview and your instructor will be with you every step of the way.
You will learn the startup process, taxiing the aircraft, and experience the rush of takeoff under your instructor's guidance. After ascending to around 1000ft and mastering the controls, you will take the reins of the aircraft yourself. Your instructor will expertly guide the aircraft back for a safe landing.

Spectators are welcome to attend and watch participants in flight, with plenty of great photo opportunities.
Participants of the four-seater experiences may bring an interested observer (min age 14) who can observe the lesson from the rear seat (at the discretion of the flight instructor and subject to weather conditions)
For four-seater flights, if you are flying solo, there is a maximum weight limit of 17 stone.

It is average because I really enjoyed my experience, it was awesome and my pilot knows what he doing and giving me confidence to takeover. Brilliant experience. The only issue I have was one of the staff was kinda disappointed because it was told that my parent are able to sit behind me in the plane but in the last min he said they can’t be in the plane without giving any reasons. Also the brief instruction was poorly presented.

This was a a Christmas gift of a 15/20 minute flight in a Cessna 152. Almat Aviation at Coventry airport readily changed the flight at my request to 30 minutes in a Cessna 172 for an additional £55. I have a 172 on my home X-Plane 10 flight simulator, but have never flown for real. I have now.
The whole experience was excellent, from the attitude and dedication of the Almat team, to the flight itself. They really do encourage you to fly the plane yourself from the left captains seat, including taking off and landing if they feel you are able.

The team couldn't have been any more accommodating and friendly. Outstanding service and experience provided. I just wish I could afford to get my pilots licence to continue making use of their service! The pilot, Clare, was amazing, running through the essentials in the short time we had in the air. This experiance was brought for me as a present from a wedding client and at first considering I am petrified of heights I was apprehensive.
When I arrived on the day, I was met with truly friendly staff that really made me feel comfortable and at ease. The flight it self was what I can only say was utterly brilliant, the pilot was calm, patient, and truly relaxed, and just made me feel so so at ease with everything.
Within a few minutes of taking off the pilot said. Ok lance you take over now, and to be frank I was bricking it, then after about 15 min I felt relaxed, and totally at home with everything, I was pitching the plane, bringing the nose up, banking to the right and left, dropped down to a slight lower altitude, flew over Warwick castle, draycote water, on towards Coombe abbey etc. the pilot was utterly brilliant, I watched me, guided me, gave me advice but most of all kept me totally calm and relaxed the whole flight.
The pilot took off from the runway, and landed the plane and that was it, I did the rest.
I cannot stress what an amazing experiance this was and would highly recommend this to anyone, fearful or non fearful of heights. If I can do it, anyone can do it, just get out there and take the plunge you won’t regret it.
