The creation of Nismo, their in-house division specially geared towards developing and producing performance cars, Nissan first unveiled the GT-R Nismo at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. One thing immediately making this a ‘Grand Tourer’ car to sit up and take notice of was its impressive performance at the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Nissan’s test driver - and 2011 FIA GT1 World Championship winner, no less - Michael Krumm, drove this superfast performance car during test runs, notching up a lap time of 7:08.679 minutes around the challenging German circuit.
That gives you a fair approximation of just how powerful the GT-R Nismo really is. The power is increased substantially from the preceding GTR model, kitted out with a 3.8 litre V6 Twin Turbocharged engine offering out an awesome 675 bhp, helping it accelerate from 0 - 60 mph in a blisteringly fast 2.5 seconds, on it way to top speeds of around 203 mph.
