First showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring of 2006, Lamborghini’s Murcielago LP640 was the updated version of their wildly popular Murcielago model that had already been in production for five successive years.
The LP in its name stands for Longitudinal Posterior, referring to the engine's orientation within the car, whilst the 640 element refers to its new, updated power output from Lamborghini’s signature V12 engine used in all their supercars since the start of the 21st century.
There were also a number of noticeable stylistic changes on the Murcielago LP640, chiefly the refreshed front and rear fascias, modified suspension system and an updated clutch on the 6 speed "e-Gear" automated manual transmission with launch control.
And then of course there’s that V12 engine, a 6.4 litre that sings out with 640 bhp, offering scorching acceleration from 0 - 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, 0 - 100 mph in 7.6 seconds and is capable of achieving top speeds of around 211 mph.
